Victor Lowrie Tafoya is a versatile violist, improviser and composer. As a passionate advocate of new music, he has appeared as a soloist, chamber musicians and educator throughout the US, South America, Europe and Asia. Victor is a founding member of Mivos Quartet, and performs regularly with groups such as Ensemble Signal, Slee Sinfonietta and Ensemble Synchronos. He can be heard on recordings from Carrier, Kill Rock Stars, New Amsterdam, New Focus Recordings, and Tzadik Records. Apart from performance, Victor writes for soloists and chamber ensembles and conducts master classes and workshops for young musicians worldwide including Hong Kong.
